24th International Exhibition for Glass Products, Manufacturing, Processing and Finishing Technology
Mir Stekla is one of the largest Russian trade shows demonstrating glass products and equipment for their production and contributing to the implementation of import substitution and the creation of competitive glass products. It has become part of Russian Construction Week in 2023.
The Week’s events offer every opportunity to learn more about related market segments, find new business partners and customers, have fruitful meetings, and expand a circle of business contacts.
This year’s show was extremely intensive, and the activity at the exhibitors' stands was very high. A busy conference programme included events where heads of relevant ministries and agencies, and representatives of glass companies discussed adapting to the new reality of trade and economic interaction between business partners.
The exhibitors of Mir Stekla 2023 included companies who are long-time friends of the show, as well as new exhibitors from friendly countries ready to replace the departing Western European companies.

Conference programme
Russian Construction Week 2023 was opened at the Plenary Meeting on the Development of Housing Construction in the Russian Federation. It gave the start to a rich and varied conference programme.

“Russian Construction Week is a large-scale platform which for a number of years has brought together representatives of the authorities and the construction business to discuss issues affecting the further development of the industry and the improvement of the living standards of the Russian people. Dialogue between the government and business is more important today than ever before. Despite the challenges faced by the industry in the past year, it is a driver of our country's economic development.”
The meeting participants included Russian Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Nikita Stasishin, Chair at the State Duma Committee on Construction, Housing and Utilities Sergey Pakhomov, Deputy Head at Rosreestr Elena Martynova, Chair at the Committee on Entrepreneurship in the Construction Sector of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Efim Basin, President at the NOSTROY National Association of Builders Anton Glushkov, CEO at PIK Group Ivan Polandov, and others.
The participants talked about further development of housing construction in Russia in the current geopolitical and economic situation, import substitution and stimulation of investment activities in housing construction, state subsidising of mortgages for new buildings, transition of the construction industry to project financing, simplification of construction procedures, and other important issues.
The conference programme of Mir Stekla continued with the Forum on Made in Russia: How to Support the Glass Industry. The event was organised by the Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House and EXPOCENTRE AO.
At the end of the forum, its participants emphasised the need to make every effort in ensuring timely and effective state support to preserve the potential of the Russian glass industry.
One more important event of Russian Construction Week and Mir Stekla 2023 was the 5th Forum on Translucent Structures. Windows, Facades, Doors, organised by the Committee on Entrepreneurship in the Construction Sector of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian Union of Designers, NOSI – the National Association of Construction Industry Participants, and EXPOCENTRE AO.
In his opening remarks, Chair at the Committee on Entrepreneurship in the Construction Sector of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Efim Basin said that the forum was traditionally linked to Mir Stekla, where the best products and operation technologies are shown. According to Mr. Basin, this year’s edition is particularly important and useful, as it is held within Russian Construction Week.
Grebenshchikov Institute of Silicate Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences and EXPOCENTRE AO held the Panel on Popularisation of Scientific Knowledge Through the Prism of Glass: Objectives, Formats, Resources, Models. Its topic is one of the important themes of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.
The panel was moderated by Deputy Director for Research at Grebenshchikov Institute of Silicate Chemistry Natalia Tyurnina. She said that glass could be an interdisciplinary object which could popularise science and scientific knowledge.
The Panel on the System of Training and Professional Development for the Glass Industry discussed the development of effective mechanisms for cooperation in the training of professionals for science and industry.

The rich conference programme of Russian Construction Week 2023 and Mir Stekla 2023 allowed industry professionals to exchange experience and best practices, and discuss new challenges under sanctions that require a prompt response, as well as the challenges the industry would face in the near future.
